The Open Gardens Team now have 16 gardens/ plots/ growing spaces this year... Some people have entered again for the 2nd year running so it will be interesting to revisit them a year on….There’s some really interesting new ones as well including a market garden and a hillside garden designed along himalayan hill farming lines .
For garden entries we will once again be organising a “ gardeners safari “ the week before the main event on Sunday 8th june.. We will setting off from the Old Library at 6pm to give everyone who has entered the opportunity to visit each others gardens and meet each other / ask questions etc . There will be some walking involved as we plan to start at the Portsmouth end of in the village, then walk up Pudsey Clough then over to Shore via the allottments and back down to Frieldhurst rd via Shore Chapel .
If anyone knows anyone who could spare a couple of hours on the day to help out with the plant stall or refreshments at the Old Library then do please ask them to get in touch with Shirley Harris on 01706 810902. Also please let us have any plant donations on or before the day as we use the proceeds from the plant stall to pay for the cost of printing the garden trail maps and everyone seemed to think it was worth doing again judging by the success of last years stall. That’s all for now …. fingers x’d for some good gardening weather from now on and see you all soon ……the Open Gardens team
