Coordinate Computer Club for the Elderly
Play part in maintaining The Old Library’s website, facebook page, twitter and email accounts
Play part in preparing visual images for posting photos online
Help visitors to The Old Library with their computer and Internet inquiries
Letting adults know about The Old Library’s groups, classes and forthcoming events

Support and supervision
There is ongoing day-to-day support from The Old Library’s employee and Trustees. You will meet with the employee and/or Trustees to discuss long-term and short-term goals and ways of achievement them. You will be given all necessary briefing and you will get acquainted with The Old Library’s computer and online systems. Café Worker will be present on site. Finance Worker is there to help with finances.

You will provide practical help that will change people’s lives to the better. The Old Library is a vibrant community hub with active website and facebook page. You will have diverse tasks of maintaining those, such as posting updates, posting and editing reports about event, editing and uploading photos, and answering inquiries.
You will have the chance to meet new people and to promote The Old Library as a community-owned building and help people to use The Old Library as their community centre.
You will be offered the opportunity to attend any in house training that is relevant to your role. After you have been with us for 2 months you will be able to request a reference should you need it.
Travel expenses will be reimbursed. You will be able to have one free drink per a three-hour shift.
Personal qualities and requirements
For this role we are looking for someone who is capable of regular time commitment, as Computer Club for the Elderly is weekly, on Wednesday mornings, 10 am – 11.30 am. At the same time, you should be flexible during the working week, when online matters will need to be dealt with.
Intermediate IT skills are a requirement and basic teaching skills would be an advantage so that you are able to impart your knowledge of the computers to the people.
Because the organisation works with vulnerable young people we require 2 referees and ask that you undertake a DBS check. We will also invite you to an informal discussion.
A commitment of at least one session per month for a three hours shift is sought, and in addition another hour per week for intermittent online tasks.
